LEGENDARY TELEVISION & DIGITAL MEDIA PARTNERS WITH BEN STILLER’S RED HOUR FILMS FOR COMPANY’S FIRST COMPREHENSIVE TV AND DIGITAL DEAL
Burbank, CA – December 6, 2013 – Legendary Television and Digital has finalized a multi-year, multi-platform deal with Ben Stiller and Stuart Cornfeld’s Red Hour Films to develop and produce exclusive content for both the television and digital sectors. The broad sweeping digital and TV partnership marks the first of its kind for the recently launched Legendary TV and Digital Media. Bruce Rosenblum, Legendary’s President of Television and Digital Media, and Debbie Liebling, President of Red Hour Television, made the announcement today. Tom Lesinski, President of Legendary Digital Media, and Mike Rosenstein, Red Hour’s Director of Digital, were integral in setting up the deal. Lesinski and Peter Johnson, Executive Vice President of Scripted Entertainment, will be involved in the creative on behalf of Legendary.

“We are very excited to partner with Legendary,” said Stiller, “though I am a little concerned that Bruce called me ‘Mr. Affleck’ when discussing the deal on the phone. Hopefully, he won’t realize he got the other Ben till after the papers are signed.”
Liebling will helm Red Hour’s development of television programming exclusively for Legendary. Liebling has experience in developing long-running TV series including South Park and has overseen the development and production of such feature films as BRIDESMAIDS, THE CHANGE-UP and BORAT, as well as Red Hour’s DODGEBALL: A TRUE UNDERDOG STORY.
Since the inception of Red Hour Television in 2012, Red Hour has had two series green lit, Birthday Boys on IFC and The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail for Comedy Central, and has set up subsequent shows at Comedy Central, HBO, FX, FOX, NBC, ABC and USA networks.
Rosenstein will run Red Hour’s digital content development for Legendary. He and Lesinski previously collaborated on the hit seriesBurning Love and the upcoming Zoolander animated digital series. Digital development under this deal will include creating original properties for a variety of formats and platforms. The Legendary digital deal will kick in after Red Hour’s current digital deal with Paramount expires. Red Hour brings to the deal a strong history of creating top-tier programming for digital platforms. They produced three seasons of the Emmy®- nominated Bachelor-parody Burning Love, and upcoming projects also include a Zoolanderanimated web series and the second season of Next Time on Lonny.

And on the even smaller screen, Red Hour has a Digital arm run by Mike Rosenstein, with a first look deal at Paramount’s Insurge Pictures, RHD develops and produces comedy projects for digital distribution. Three seasons of the wildly successful and Emmy nominated Bachelor-parody, “Burning Love” can currently be found on BurningLove.com, iTunes and airing on E! Television. Upcoming projects include a “Zoolander” animated web series and the second season of “Next Time On Lonny”.
