Highlights from Jeff Bridges’ Q&A on the IGN Facebook Page
IGN has just concluded their Facebook Q&A with Jeff Bridges, star of Seventh Son, so we rounded up the highlights below ranging from Jeff’s favorite moments on the set of SEVENTH SON to how he got his start in acting. Catch SEVENTH SON in theaters starting tomorrow.
Erica Martin: What was the most memorable time you had with your co-stars on the set of Seventh Son?
Jeff Bridges: I loved playing and hanging out with Julianne Moore, who played Maude in The Big Lebowski. She’s such a wonderful actress and person. Her performance this year in Still Alice was extraordinary.
Dakota Floyd: Jeff was acting your first career choice?
Jeff Bridges: I had a career in acting before I was old enough to MAKE a choice, really. I’m a product of nepotism and I can’t thank my father, Lloyd, enough. Just about the hardest thing about the acting profession is getting your first few breaks. And, that was handled by my dad.
Erica Martin: What was your routine for preparing for your role in Seventh Son?
Jeff Bridges: I read a lot…Joseph Campbell, Robert Johnson, Robert Bly. I love mythology. My director, Sergei Bordov, is a Russian. I came across a quote in my studies that I found he was familiar with. I wanted this to be the subtext of our film. He agreed. Here it is: “If only it were all so simple! If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?” – Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago 1918-1956
Brock Bowden: What is you’re favorite movie you have starred in?
Jeff Bridges: Well…for me, it’s like the corny thing actor say about their favorite film. It’d be like naming your favorite kid. I love all of my kids and all of my movies. I’m a lucky guy.
Nate Alexander: Do you currently own a throw rug; if so does it tie the room together?
Jeff Bridges: Yes, it ties the room together with a bow or a square knot depending on my mood.
